Lettings Process cont. (2)
References
In order to get you moved in, we need to run a reference check to make sure you don’t have any adverse credit history. To do this we use a referencing company called Homelet.
Homelet are the market leaders however, this is sometimes where things can take a bit of time. Homelet can only act on the information provided by you so please make sure your application form is filled out thoroughly or your move in date could be delayed. It’s a good idea to let you referees know that Homelet will be trying to get in touch so that things can move as quickly as possible. The main reason for applications taking longer than expected is that referees (old landlord, current employers etc.) don’t get in touch with Homelet or don’t return all the information required.
Once all the references are back we can confirm the move in date with you and move on to the next and final part of the process.
Moving in
Once your move in date is confirmed, we’ll make sure your new home is ready for you to move in and get all the paperwork ready for you to sign on the day. You’ll meet with one of our Property Managers who will go through everything with you, answering any questions about the contract and tell you how to work things like the heating, the cooker and the boiler.
Signing your contract means that you are now legally bound by its conditions and have various obligations to both nest and to your landlord. Since this all sounds a bit scary you can view a copy of our standard Tenancy Agreement online on the fourth page of this letting process guide.
